Hi there couponers.  Have you tried contacting companies and asking for coupons or samples?? I contacted a few last week and so far I have heard back from Tabasco.  They sent me a package in the mail that included several recipe booklets, a catalog to order Tabasco gear, and 5 coupons for .75 off their products.  So it's worth it to email your favorite brands and just compliment them on their products or let them know if you have a complaint.  Some of them have emailed back and told me I could find their coupons in the Sunday paper. I didn't reply to their email but my first thought was well duh why didn't I think of that LOL. Anyway, let me know who you contact and what you get.  Stay warm and enjoy today's round up.

Wednesday's goodies with show n tell

Hiya couponing pals!! I have a story time for you today.  My kids grew up watching me coupon.  They would dread going to the store with me if I had Petunia with me.  Petunia is what we have jokingly named my purple coupon binder, she never was very popular with the kids.  Especially my daughter in the air freshener aisle. I could literally spend hours there matching my coupons to deals.  My boys never went with me to much.  And as you know I have just gotten back into couponing recently.  Well I've brought someone along with me. My oldest son and his girlfriend!! Their expecting their first child, my first grandchild in May.  Well my son sent me a text message last night and I had a proud couponing momma moment lol.  He sent a pic of his laundry room area of their haul.  Now mind you these 2 have only been couponing for about a week and a half and this is how their doing.  Check this out!! In this photo you can see 50 small bottles of Gain {Yes 50!}, 4 medium bottles of Gain and Tide, 6 huge bottles of Xtra, and between the actual boxes and white container there are 18 boxes of Gain and not pictured he told me they have two 5 gallon buckets of Gain powder. And here is the best part - with couponing they got all of this for UNDER $20! Woo hoo!! I had to head out last night and try my hand at this haul, kinda sad yet kinda proud to say that my boy has out-couponed me.  I only ended up something like 4 boxes and 6 bottles and had to pay about $6 so it wasn't bad but I could've done better. ~*~*~*~*Beer Cheese Appetizers *~*~*~*~

INGREDIENTS
2 cups biscuit/baking mix
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup beer or nonalcoholic beer
2 tablespoons butter, melted
Sesame and/or poppy seeds

CHEESE SAUCE:
1 package (8 ounces) process cheese (Velveeta), cubed
1/2 cup refried beans
2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and chopped
1/4 cup sour cream

1/4 cup salsa

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 450°

Combine biscuit mix and cheese in a large bowl. 

Stir in beer until a soft dough forms. 

Turn onto a floured surface; knead 5 times.

Roll into a 16x10-in. rectangle.           

Cut into 2-in. squares; cut each square in half diagonally.  

Place 1 in. apart on greased baking sheets.

Brush with butter; sprinkle with seeds. 

Bake 6-8 minutes or until lightly browned. 

Remove to wire racks to cool.  

For sauce, combine remaining ingredients in a small saucepan. 

Cook and stir over medium heat until cheese is melted. 

Serve immediately with triangles. 

Yield: 80 appetizers (1-3/4 cups sauce).

Kroger is currently my favorite store to shop at and with good reason.  Their clearance aisle is packed full of awesome deals right now.  And I've gotten a few freebies from the Kroger card this week.  If you have a Kroger card and you upload coupons to it look for Arla Cream Cheese Spread.  Here's what it looks like.  Anyway, there is a coupon for a free 7 oz container and it is yummy!! Just add the digital coupon to your card and scan it at checkout.  If you do self checkout and the coupon doesn't come off just let the cashier know and they'll take it off for you.  Be sure to check the digital coupons tomorrow also because there will be a coupon for the Freebie Friday item. I haven't mentioned this in awhile but the best advice I can give you when requesting coupons and freebies from sites is to not use your email that you use on a regular basis.  You're going to want to create an email just for your coupons and freebies to be sent to.  I do this so I don't have to weed through all of my coupons and promotional emails to find my important emails like my utility emails and what not. Alot of the companies like to email us and when you join their newsletters they generally will send a monthly or weekly coupon that can be printed so join the newsletters or websites of your favorite brands just in case I don't come across them and post them for you.  And if you do find some that I haven't please share them with me. :)

Hiya gang!  During my search for goodies I came across a Martin's Supermarket coupon book that a local school is selling for $5 as a fundraiser.  I don't know which school it is but, if someone reading this is selling that book please contact me because I would like to buy a few of those books.
